Blockout labels are used to cover up an existing print. For instance they might be used to cover up an old address on a brochure with a new address.
Most printed labels will allow some show through from whatever the label is applied to. Blockout labels however have a coloured adhesive (generally blue or black) so once applied will completely 'blockout' any print underneath the label.
